Red Apple Farm| Phillipston, Massachusetts
Apple picking, barbecue, animals, a gift shop and a beautiful pumpkin patch sums up my weekend. I went to visit my family in Massachusetts this past weekend and brought my nieces and nephews to the Red Apple Farm, located in Phillipston, Massachusetts. If you live in the area or are just visiting Massachusetts this fall season, you MUST check out the Red Apple Farm. The farm is a perfect family escape that's fun for both adults and children. I had a blast at the Red Apple Farm, and my nieces and nephews did not want to leave. In honor of Halloween, first we wanted to pick pumpkins from the pumpkin patch to bring home and carve. At the Red Apple Farm, there is a patch of pumpkins to pick from with all different size pumpkins to choose from. The pumpkin patch is absolutely beautiful and puts you in the Halloween spirit. My nieces and nephews had a blast running around finding their special pumpkin to carve while I was searching for the perfect pumpkin for my grandmother to make pumpkin pie with. My family had a great time searching for the perfect pumpkin! Next, we went to feed the animals on the farm. On the farm, there are chickens, rabbits, goats, pigs and cows and you can purchase food to feed them all. Again, my nieces and nephews had a blast feeding the animals. I especially loved feeding the pigs because whenever I see pigs they remind me of my favorite childhood book, "Charlotte's Web."
In addition, there is a great gift shop that includes candies, sauces and products made from apples. One of my favorites are the warm apple donuts they make fresh on the farm. The apple donuts are addicting and I'm pretty sure I ate three of them. There is also delicious barbecue to eat on the farm, which is my favorite! (Try the baked beans!)
Last but not least, there are rows and rows of apple trees to go apple picking. The farm provides you with apple bags to purchase and you can fill the bags to the top with apples. I love going apple picking because that means someone is baking apple pie or apple crisp, and that just makes my belly happy. Thanks to the Red Apple Farm I had an awesome weekend with my family and memories that will last a lifetime. Again, if you are in the Phillipston area visit The Red Apple Farm, you will not regret it!
