The CHAMPS ARE HERE!!!
WHAT A NIGHT! 10 years ago, my older sister and I helped an amazing group of awesome women win a state championship for our high school basketball team and ten years later we reunited. Not to brag, but our senior year of high school our basketball record was 23-0 and we became NEPSAC Class A Champions. Oh, the memories!Have you ever been to a class reunion before? Or any reunion for that mater? If so, maybe you felt like me. A little nervous, a bit excited and exteremely anxious. After 10 years I wondered what this day would bring. Our basketball team was special in the year of 2006 and we were coached by an awesome woman. We made memories that would last a lifetime and friendships that will last forever. I could not wait to head home and reunite with my team. So to speed up to the reunion, it was everything I thought it would be and more. Wow! Everyone looked amazing and I was so excited to catch up. Our coach looked fab as usual, and her daughter I use to babysit was all grown up and beautiful. Some of the women are now beautiful mothers, while others are pursing their careers. It's kind of weird how you can go so long without seeing each other but when you reconnect it feels as if was just yesterday we were running through plays. During the event, we watched our highlight reel of our 2006 season and had a little ceremony in between the games of the tournament that was occurring. We sat and watch the girls basketball game that was going on but for the most part we talked, laughed, and smiled from ear to ear. This reunion truly brought back so many amazing memories and I thank my coach for putting together such a great event.
At first I was not going to be able to make the reunion date but I was able to move things around and I am so glad I did. My family had a wonderful time and it was really fun reconnecting with everyone. Afterwards, I thought about all of our good times and what a great team we really were. Cheers to our team and our great accomplishments. It was truly a special part of my life and I am thankful that we were able to relive it 10 years later.
All in all, never be nervous about attending a reunion. I mean it's totally normal to be a little apprehensive but honestly it was the best experience I have had in a while meeting with old friends, catching up on life, and simply enjoying each other's company. Just be you, would be my best advice I would give you when attending a reunion.
